Dialr Quick Start Guide

1. Update you plugins

If possible update your plugins and your DAW to the latest version for the best Dialr experience.

2. Download and install N.O.D.E

N.O.D.E (Network Orchestrator of Devices and Events) is the nerve center that links Dialr with your DAW, plugins, and the Producely Cloud.

You only need to install it once - you're all set after that.

After installation, N.O.D.E automatically scans and analyzes your plugins in the background. This takes about 5-10 minutes, but you can continue with the next steps while it runs.

Use the included USB-C cable to connect Dialr to your computer.

3. Register as a User in N.O.D.E

Open N.O.D.E and register to unlock the full Dialr experience.

Registration connects you to the global plugin profile network, giving you automatic access to updated profiles whenever a new plugin, or a new version with additional parameters, is scanned in the network.

After registering, go to Settings and select your DAW (Ableton Live, Cubase or Logic Pro).

4. Configure you DAW

Set up your DAW to recognize Dialr as an external controller:

- Ableton Live (MacOS & Windows): Open Ableton > Settings > Library, and look at the “Location of User Library.” Then compare it with the path listed under Settings in N.O.D.E. If the two paths don’t match, just update the one in N.O.D.E to match Ableton’s.

Go to Settings > Link, Tempo & MIDI and set "Dialr" as a Control Surface.

- Cubase (MacOS): Go to Studio / MIDI Remote Manager and select "Dialr".

- Cubase (Windows): Windows does not support virtual MIDI ports. Install third-party software such as loopMIDI by Tobias Erichsen. After installation, create two virtual MIDI ports named: "NODEMIDI-In" and "NODEMIDI-Out". Finally go to Studio > MIDI Remote Manager and select "Dialr".

- Logic Pro: Select "Logic Pro" as your DAW in N.O.D.E / Settings.

5. Using Dialr

Dialr is always mapped and ready. Just open a plugin on a track and start dialing:

  • Click the left Select knob to switch between plugin mode and track mode.
  • Turn the left Select knob to select a plugin or a track.
  • Turn the right Select knob to browse between the Main Page (frontpage) and the sub-pages.
  • Turn a knob or press a soft button to control the plugin parameters.
  • Hold either Select knob for fine adjustment of parameter values. You can choose between three fine-adjust levels in Settings.
  • The 12 knobs and soft buttons are auto-mapped for you. But they are only suggestions.
  • To edit mappings and save your own user profile, open the Editor in N.O.D.E.
