Known Issues

As we continue to push the boundaries of what a plugin controller can be, some bugs, quirks, and usability issues are bound to appear. That’s part of building something new. But we’re committed to fixing issues quickly, improving the experience, and delivering the best controller we can, for you and for the creative community we're building around Dialr.

Below you'll find a list of known issues, updated regularly, along with available workarounds or status updates.

Dialr

  • UI screenshots missing. Some plugin profiles don’t display the UI graphics yet or the quality is low. This will improve over time as the network of Dialr users contribute plugins visuals to the shared network.
  • Plugins using custom wrappers. Some plugin vendors embed their own architecture inside the VST3/AU wrapper, requiring custom handling. Known examples include: Waves (fixed), Plugin Alliance, Native Instruments, Spectrasonics, Reason Studios. We’re working on compatibility for each on a case-by-case basis.
  • Some AU plugins appear with no parameters. This is a known limitation. Workaround: Use the VST3-version of the plugin. Full AU plugin support is on the way along with Logic Pro support!

  • Audio Output Device must be selected in Ableton settings. If no device is set as Audio Output Device, some plugins may fail to work properly in Ableton, which can cause parameter issue in Dialr.

Cubase

  • Steinberg stock plugins not supported yet. Dialr does not yet auto-detect Steinbergs stock plugins. Workaround: In N.O.D.E, go to Settings → Add Plugin Folder, and manually enter the path to the folder where your Steinberg plugins are saved. Support for the stock plugins is coming soon.
